The following is a list of guidelines for each class and spec. Remember how the Pirate Code was more or less guidelines? Treat this like that. You don't have to have EXACTLY THESE STATS RIGHT HERE in order to go. We take anyone that's attuned and wants to try! These are just what you might want to shoot for.

FOOD, POTIONS, AND OTHER THINGS YOU MAY WANT TO CONSIDER
I don't feel like sitting here all night, so this isn't going to be done by class. I'm going to separate into certain job categories. Here goes!
PLEASE PLEASE keep in mind that all of these are NOT required for you to go! They help, but they are by no means MANDATORY!
Tank/Offtank
-Super Healing Potion: Great in a pinch when you're going to die and your healer is either incapacitated, sleeping, or targeting someone else!
-Flask of Fortification: Flasks are great for large instances like Karazhan because they persist through death. They cost a bit more and count as BOTH a battle and a guardian elixir, but they last for two hours each. If you find the costs too high, then try getting the mats and asking one of our guild alchemists to make you one!
-Ironshield Potion: This will give you extra armor for those nasty, hard-hitting bosses. Certainly not required, but could help, I guess.
-Food. Really, any stamina food would be GREAT. Spicy Crawdad is going to be the best possible food you can get for +STAM, but really, it's costly. The +20 stamina foods would work great, too.
DPS (Caster)
-Super Mana Potion: As much as I hate to say it, these are pretty much required unless you're a Warlock. Yes, Mages have Evocation, and yes, Druid have Innervate. Those aren't always enough, though! You especially want these if you are an Elemental Shaman. For extra inventory space, you may want to consider building a Mana Potion Injector if you are an engineer, which holds 20 Super Mana Potions in one inventory slot.
-Elixir of Draenic Wisdom: 30 INT/SPR. Good for casting longevity!
-Adept's Elixir: SpellCRIT and SpellDMG, both good things to have. Goes well with the Elixir of Draenic Wisdom if you're not using a flask.
-Superior Wizard Oil: Extra SpellDMG for your weapon, and it persists through death! Each oil gives you five uses.
-Flask of Supreme Power: 70 SpellDMG for two hours, and persists through death. Yummy!
-Blackened Basilisk: Extra SpellDMG! If you don't want this food, then you can go with any given +STAM food, or perhaps Blackened Sporefish for the extra Mana/5sec while casting. Poached Bluefish is also +SpellDMG, and is more readily available than Blackened Basilisk.
DPS (Melee or Hunter)
-Super Healing Potion: Great to chug when you take damage and you don't have a healer focusing on you or Chain Heal to save your life.
-Super Mana Potion: Not as badly needed as with caster classes. Perhaps Hunters and Melee DPS that uses mana could use them. (Enhancement Shaman, Retadin?)
-Fel Mana Potion: This mana potion was MADE for hunters, has negative effects that only effect your arcane shot and are far superior to a regular mana potion, but also cost much more. If you know your going to have a long fight and want optimal DPS by using aspect of hawk instead of viper, chug one of these babies around 70% and you will never run out of mana.
-Flask of Relentless Assault: 120 ATT, persists through death, but most likely NOT the DMV. You're guranteed to be there longer than two hours.
-Elixir of Major Agility: Crit rating and AGI. A nice alternative if you don't want a flask.
-Earthen Elixir: A guardian elixir to go with a battle elixir. Less damage taken is always a good thing.
-Ravager Dog: 40 ATT, and goes great with ketchup. For Melee classes that focus on STR, Roasted Clefthoof will also work. Grilled Mudfish or Warp Burger are good for people that like AGI, as they're both +20 AGI. +STAM food is also great if you feel that your damage chart topping skills are leet enough.
Healers
-Super Healing Potion: Good for when you need to heal and you don't want to waste mana targeting yourself. I bring at least 5, but I almost never use them.
-Super Mana Potion: Pretty much a necessity. Be sure to use your potion when you're down to about 70-60% mana to start the two-minute cooldown ASAP. Sometimes, you might get in two drinks a battle!
-Flask of Mighty Restoration: 25 MP/sec for two hours! This is what I use!
-Elixir of Draenic Wisdom: 30 extra INT/SPR for one hour. Does not persist through death, but is a nice alternative if you don't want to buy a flask.
-Elixir of Healing Power: +50 healing. A good battle elixir to go with your Elixir of Draenic Wisdom (guardian) if you don't want to go with a flask.
-Superior Mana Oil: Applied to your weapon. If you are a Shaman, a weapon enhancing spell will overwrite this. It works with normal weapon enchants, though. Persists through death, since your weapon doesn't DIE. Each oil gives you 5 uses.
-Blackened Sporefish: Mana/5 is great for healers! I didn't notice it at first, but a lot of MP/5 really keeps you going in long fights.
OTHER THINGS THAT CAN ALSO BE USEFUL
-Field Repair Bots!: Highly useful when your raid is all in red armor and no one feels like going to repair.
-The Staff of Archmage Vargoth: Because Archmage Vargoth can save the entire raid when they're about to wipe.
-Pants: Pants are good to have, but, as usual, are totally optional.
-USB Grill: Now you don't have to go AFK for food!
-This: I really don't know why, but it's awesome.
END
That's basically it! Everything you need to know to get started on your wonderful Karazhan experience should be in this guide. I'll add other stuff if I think about it, and people are free to post things for me to add. Yes, even I don't know everything. Also, don't be intimidated! Karazhan is quite fun, and we don't mind helping you learn! Just try to do your best when you come, and I'm sure that you'll do just fine! <3
