The Elders of Turalyon is a World of Warcraft guild on the Turalyon-US server, Alliance faction. Founded in March 2006, our guild is based on the promise that we are all like-minded adults that are interested in experiencing all that WoW has to offer.

Many in our guild have families and other real-life commitments that need to come first. Some have mere moments to commit to their time with us, others spend a great deal learning the intricacies of the game. Yet somehow all of these different types of players find themselves happily coexisting and helping one another whenever they can. In our guild, you get to define your own role, schedule, and level of involvement based on what you want to do.

Players new to the game will find a wonderful group of folks to help them in quests, dungeons, and other aspects of the game. We have many experienced players that are always willing to answer questions about character choices, specs, items, or play style. In The Elders, you can expect caring, helpful people to take an interest in your personal progression.

Experienced players have equal access to raiding that does not require mandatory participation, an active schedule that plans several raids a week (some regularly, others off-schedule), and a unique loot distribution method that does not penalize those who cannot attend raids often. The Elders will satisfy your need to cover new ground, challenge yourself individually, and get you into places you've always wanted to go without the added stress of making raiding your second job.

In many ways, our guild defies convention. We offer benefits to casual players as well as players that spend a lot of time in the game. Both are welcome, and both have found happiness in our social confines. We are a casual guild that raids, but neither "casual" nor "raiders" truly defines us. We are unique.

If you would like to learn more about our guild, please have a look around our website. When you are ready to apply for membership, please read our rules and then apply.

Timing is Everything

Like Jordan for three at the buzzer, Team TEOT completed Naxxramas: Heroic as a guild just hours before the Ulduar patch hit the live servers.

News of a casual guild that raids performing such a monumentus feat sent shockwaves throughout Azeroth. As of 7:57PM server time almost 24 hours later, the servers are still "under maintenance" and unable to be accessed. Clearly this is Blizzard's attempts at retooling all the challenges we have yet to encounter to ensure that our newfound dominance in raiding doesn't go unchecked ;)

Our guild has mostly done ten person content up to this point, and the planning and execution of this came from many different sources and folks. We had people in the guild really stepping up to help one another, crafting gear for the betterment of the group, and ultimately trusting one another to step up and do their individual best.

Three Year Anniversary Ends With a ROFLStomp of Usul

Over the course of March 27-28 2009, The Elders celebrated their founding three years with a number of festivities.

Saturday brought the Guild Annual Bash, MC'ed by Cellesia. Drinks were served in the Dalaran Beer Garden and games took place shortly thereafter:

  • Vorissa won a Frozen Orb in the "Pet Pat" race, in which guildies ran to an Elune Light, deployed their Blizzard Baby Bear, then /pat on its head.
  • Galestrom won an Abyss Crystal as the party goers all madly tried to roll a 3. Of course, four people had to be told /roll 3-3 does not count :)
  • Galestrom continued his good luck along with Serari and Taggartfly as we sent two teams scrambling for all the mats needed to make Green Smoke Flares.
  • The last event of the night sent The Elders from Stormwind to Gurubashi Arena. For as long as a white smoke flare burned in the center of the arena, The Elders faced each other in Survival Combat. There were many run banks, but in the end, the overpowered Death Knight Serari won the day and the Epic worth 500 gold!

Sunday's festivities crowned with the first (of hopefully many) "Usul Uprising" in which the guild faced off a bunch of low level hordies against the Guild Master Usul. The event played out flawlessly as the Guild managed to get Usul down in just under 5 minutes. Usul even dropped loot!

Thanks to everyone who helped to plan and take part of all of these events. Watching everyone enjoy themselves, laugh on vent together, and to get excited for things like this are all play huge parts in what makes this guild special!

Happy three years and here's to many more!!!

Stop the Usul Uprising!

Our worst fears have been fully realized.

After reading about the gift of resurrection while watching Battlestar Galactica (if Sci Fi is not available from your local Azerothian area, call your cable provider today!), the mage Usul began to dabble in the Dark Arts. He's not as gifted as the warlocks (nerf locks QQ), but he's learned enough to be dangerous.

Reports from sources close to Usul have confirmed the worst. Somehow, someway, he has begun to animate some of the countless corpses he has left behind. These undead abominations are low level and relatively harmless now, but with the number of times a mage dies, its only a matter of time before the world is overrun with poorly played glass cannons with a penchant for killing guild chat with random chatter.

Your mission is to band together as one guild and take Usul down a peg before its too late. Simply killing him is not going to be enough. You must beat him upon the head, face and stomach with low level characters like some sort of sick, old man pinata until he is jarred enough that he forgets what he's learned about resurrection.

Only you and the rest of The Elders can stop this from getting out of hand. So sign up ASAP and carve your name into our guild's history as being one of the one's who helped save Azeroth from certain doom!

This event requires you to have a low level horde alt lower than level 11. If you have a toon created and ready to go, please have them parked in Orgrimmar or Undercity. Any characters higher cause Usul to enrage or his guardians to enrage. The fight is going to be handled like a true raid encounter, so Ventrilo will be needed.

This event is open to guild members only.

Malygos Down!

After several attempts and multiple trips to refine our strategy, The Elders of Turalyon took down Malygos in the Eye of Eternity on March 24, 2009. Congratulations to all! This was one of the few encounters that we had not conquered as a guild.

This was a hardfought process to get this boss down and I am extremely proud of the support that we all show for each other as we continue to experience and conquer new content, no matter what form it takes.

Guild Members in attendance were:

Macks
Tribian
Arthert
Cellesia
Twerp
Shemo
Vorissa
Windfaller
Mezav
Khary
